From Harvard To Helping

Ryan Alexander is a dedicated personal injury attorney with 17 years of experience representing more than 5,080 injured clients and recovering over $100,000,000 in damages. A true trial lawyer at heart, he has completed over 38 trials to jury verdict or judicial decision and is frequently asked by other attorneys to handle their trials so they can focus on claims work.

He is a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, reserved for attorneys who have secured settlements exceeding $2,000,000. Ryan has been recognized as a Top Rank Lawyer by Nevada Business Magazine, named a Top Lawyer by Desert Companion (PBS), and featured on Telemundo and radio outlets for his legal commentary. His firm has grown to include four attorneys and more than a dozen full-time staff members dedicated exclusively to personal injury cases.

Ryan’s legal work extends beyond personal injury. He has handled appeals before the Nevada Supreme Court, the Nevada Court of Appeals, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has resolved numerous plaintiff-side employment discrimination cases involving race, gender, disability, sexual harassment, and retaliation, as well as civil rights claims against government entities, including police abuses, wrongful detention, wrongful imprisonment, and jail death cases.

He has been invited to speak as an alumni guest at Harvard Law School and has served as a guest presenter at the International Academy of Design and Emerson College.

Education

Ryan Alexander’s educational path spans three countries and reflects the global perspective he brings to his legal practice. He attended boarding school in New Zealand before completing his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University–Hawaii, where he majored in International Business after initially pursuing Visual Art.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, where he stood out as the only student in his class pursuing a career as a plaintiff’s lawyer. His passion for representing individuals rather than corporations or institutions took root there and set the course for the practice he would later build.

Personal Background

Ryan grew up in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada, spending most of his childhood on a farm outside a steeltown about 15 miles from Buffalo, New York. His family roots run deep in hard work: his mother’s side came from generations of union iron and steelworkers, while his father served as a military officer.

His teenage years became unexpectedly international. Through a series of fortunate circumstances, Ryan spent time in Germany with his father, later attended boarding school in New Zealand, and eventually completed college in Hawaii. During those years he developed a strong connection to Polynesian cultures and even performed in Samoan and Māori cultural dance troupes.

During college, Ryan took two years off to serve a religious mission in Seattle, Washington, working exclusively with Spanish-speaking immigrant communities. Beyond teaching doctrine, he helped families find employment, build social networks, furnish empty apartments, and navigate life in the United States. Those experiences offered him invaluable insight into the challenges and strengths of Hispanic immigrant communities. It was in Seattle, while working in the homes of Latino families, that he first considered becoming a lawyer—a sharp turn from his earlier dream of becoming an artist.

After returning to Hawaii, he switched his major from Visual Art to International Business and began preparing for law school. When he arrived at Harvard Law School, he was the only student who openly aspired to become a plaintiff’s attorney, thanks to the influence of an injury lawyer friend whose stories about helping severely injured clients left a profound impression on him. He was also the only member of his class to start his own practice immediately after graduation.

Ryan enjoys the personal and human side of the legal profession and embraces the “counselor” aspect of being an attorney just as much as the courtroom battles.

Life Outside the Law

Ryan is married and a father of four. He enjoys films and documentaries, photography and graphic design, exotic sports cars, and studying languages. He continues dabbling in Photoshop and typography, and is the creator of the internet-famous “Hello Kitty Ferrari” that once traveled the web like a pink meteor.
